Apologies for just getting around to this now, but old news can still be good news — especially when there’s a special twerk, err, twist.
Hip-hop superstar (and Philly Sports Jabronis crush) Nicki Minaj made a surprise appearance at Villanova’s Hoops Mania a few weeks ago. She came wearing a Wildcats basketball jersey, complete with “Minaj” on the back and the number one. The student invite-only midnight madness event officially kicked off the 2013-14 college basketball season.
Minaj sang five of her hit tracks in a 25-minute performance at The Pavilion. Instantly Twitter blew up, as she posed with players and even coach Jay Wright. Minaj plastered photos and videos all over Twitter. In fact, her Twitter handle had her in a Villanova basketball jersey.
Then, just four days ago, Minaj posted this video on Instagram.

My only question, where was my invite? I used to work on the Main Line. I covered quite a few Villanova basketball games in my day, even interviewed Jay Wright in an exclusive 1-on-1 way back when. Seriously, guys, what gives?
