Report From Philadelphia Union
The Philadelphia Union have announced the team will host Barclays Premier League side Crystal Palace FC on July 25 at 7:00 p.m. at PPL Park. The match, presented by Philadelphia Insurance Companies, is included in the Union full season ticket package at no additional cost.
“Crystal Palace was really a fun team to watch with its attacking style of football throughout this past season,” said Philadelphia Union CEO & Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz. “We are looking forward to hosting a great team and organization this summer. Crystal Palace will be our 5th English Premier team to play the Philadelphia Union and we are delighted we can bring them to PPL Park. I know the fans will see an interesting and exciting international exhibition.”
Crystal Palace finished the 2013-2014 BPL campaign with a 13-6-19 record and an 11th place League finish, including a thrilling 3-3 tie against Liverpool FC on May 5. Led by Australian captain Mile Jedinak, the Eagles also boast talent such as top scorer Dwight Gayle (eight goals), Irish international Damien Delaney and Jamaican international Adrian Mariappa. This will be Delaney’s second visit to PPL Park this summer, as he joined Ireland when it faced Costa Rica on June 6.
