Union Plays to Scoreless Draw With Orlando City SC

Report From Philadelphia Union 

Orlando, Fla. – The first encounter in MLS history between Orlando City SC and the Philadelphia Union resulted in a scoreless draw Saturday night. The Union saw several chances on goal and limited Orlando to one shot on target. A knee injury on Conor Donovan forced Orlando to make an early substitution in the 14th minute. The first half saw a great deal of physical play with few chances on goal from either side. The Union´s best opportunity in the first half came from Sebastien Le Toux, who hit the post in the 22nd minute.

The second half had more chances in front of goal, with the Union having eight shots out of a game total of 11. When the referee blew the final whistle, the game remained scoreless and both teams came away with a point. The Union return to action at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12 in PPL Park to face the Chicago Fire in the semifinals of the U.S. Open Cup.
