Union Announces Preseason & Weekly Training Schedule

CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia Union announced the first phase of its 2016 preseason schedule today, with training sessions beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 at the University of Pennsylvania. On Wednesday, Jan. 27, the club will host its annual open training session for all fans at YSC Sports in Wayne, Pa. from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. All other training sessions in Philadelphia will be closed to the public, with media availability during the last 15 minutes of practice.

With the exception of Jan. 27, the Union will train at Dunning-Cohen Champions Field at Penn Park (The Bubble), located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, from Jan. 24-30. All training sessions are slated to begin at 10 a.m., weather permitting.

Slated for Thursday, Jan. 28 will be the club’s Media Day at Talen Energy Stadium, open to all inquiring media at 1:30 p.m. All media interested in attending should RSVP with a member of the Philadelphia Union communications staff.

After spending the first week of training in Philadelphia, the team will return to Florida for the remainder of its 2016 preseason. The club will train in Jacksonville from Feb. 2-5, before playing Armada FC of the North American Soccer League (NASL) on Feb. 6. The club will then once again return to Clearwater for the remainder of camp on Sunday, Feb. 7. They’ll play Chicago Fire on Thursday, Feb. 11 at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex in Clearwater, Fla.
