Steve Mason’s return to net Tuesday night wasn’t enough to cool off the red-hot Dallas Stars, who beat the Philadelphia Flyers, 2-1, in Philadelphia. Mason stopped 30 of 32 shots he faced in his first action since being excused for a family-related incident last week. An early first-period goal by Tyler Seguin got Dallas out to a 1-0 lead and a late second-period goal by Jamie Benn pushed the lead to 2-0. Sean Couturier scored his first goal of the season for the Flyers more than midway through the third period on an assist from Wayne Simmonds, his third of the season.
