PHILADELPHIA – The 2016 ArenaBowl Champion Philadelphia Soul have agreed to terms with the AFL’s top quarterback, Dan Raudabaugh (6’3, 220, Miami, OH). This is Raudabaugh’s eighth season in the Arena Football League and his sixth season with the Soul.
“Dan has proven he can lead a team to a championship and we are looking forward to him leading the charge as we defend our title this season,” said Soul head coach Clint Dolezel. “There’s not a better quarterback in this league, we now have the best player in the league on our team ready to lead us to another championship.”
The 2015 AFL MVP and offensive player of the year has guided the Soul to three division championships, three conference championships and three ArenaBowl appearances with a win in 2016. He finished the 2016 regular season by completing 339-of-489 passes (69.3 percent) and establishing an impressive 4,303 total yards and touchdowns (101). In his career with the Soul, Raudabaugh has amassed 1,865 completions for 23,115 total yards and 516 touchdowns.
Prior to coming to Philadelphia, Raudabaugh began his AFL career with the Dallas Vigilantes (2010-11). In two seasons with the Vigilantes, Raudabaugh played in 20 games, including one playoff game, completing 391-of-557 (64.8 percent) passes, with 100 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
