Report From PhiladelphiaSoul.com
The Philadelphia Soul has officially entered the halfway mark of training camp by making the first round of cuts. The Soul trimmed a 35-man roster to 28 as they prepare for the second half of camp.
The first cuts from the roster include: OL Lemone Buford, WR Damion Clark, OL Brandon Grier, DB Jacobi Jenkins, FB Jeff Link and DL Justin Young. The last cuts will put the roster at 24, which will take place on the last day of training camp, March 8. The final cut will make the Soul ready for the 2014 season.
“Making cuts is always the toughest part of the job,” said Soul head coach, Clint Dolezel. “When they are tough decisions to make – like the ones today – it means our staff did a good job this past offseason of bringing in talent. This will continue to be a very competitive camp and we are excited with the way our roster is shaping up.”
The Soul open their 2014 season on Saturday, March 15 at 9 p.m. in Phoenix, against the Arizona Rattlers for an ArenaBowl XXVI rematch.
