Ironically, the last time the Sixers won a game (Jan. 29), it was Evan Turner who hit a buzzer beater to defeat the Celtics. On Saturday night, the now former 76er returned to the Wells Fargo Center for the first time since being traded to title contenders Indiana. Turner had little impact on the game (two points on 1-4 shooting over 21 minutes of play), a 101-94 win for the Pacers (48-17), but the Sixers (15-50) still lost their 19th consecutive contest, which is one off the franchise’s worst losing streak, including the 15th straight at home. The Sixers last won on Jan. 29 on Evan Turner’s buzzer-beater at Boston. Turner was traded to the Pacers at the Feb. 20 deadline and is now a key reserve on a team expected to make a deep run in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Lavoy Allen, who was also part of the Turner trade, netted 13 points in 17 minutes. Fellow “former” Sixer Andrew Bynum, once again, did not play in Philly.
Thaddeus Young led the Sixers with 25 points on 10 of 31 shooting with had 10 assists.
