Sixers Lose 20th Straight, Match Longest Losing Streak

Just 24 hours prior the 76ers looked as if their monumental losing streak would end against, of all teams, the title contending Indiana Pacers. But on Saturday night those same Sixers resembled their truest of selves as of late by falling to the visiting Memphis Grizzlies, 103-77. With the defeat this year’s club tied the “record” for the longest losing streak in franchise history. Only the 1972-73 Sixers had lost 20 straight before last night’s matchup. That team went winless from Jan. 9-Feb. 11 and won just nine times on the season.

Mike Conley scored 19 points and Zach Randolph added 14 to lead the Grizzlies (39-27) on Saturday. The Sixers (15-51) get another chance to end the skid against former teammates Evan Turner, Lavoy Allen and Andrew Bynum Monday night in Indiana.

Michael Carter-Williams led Philly on Saturday with 23 points while Thaddeus Young netted 20. For more on this game, click here.
