The Philadelphia 76ers evidently released JaKarr Sampson for nothing. Literally. Sampson, who was released by the club in order to make room for Detroit Pistons backup center Joel Anthony, who was to be acquired as part of a three-team deal involving the Boston Celtics, has been signed by the Denver Nuggets on the heels of Detroit’s voiding the deal due to the player they were to acquire from the Rockets (power forward Donatas Motiejunas) not being able to pass a physical (back problems). The Sixers were also supposed to get a second-round pick in the deal. Did general manager Sam Hinkie not analyze the health of all players involved appropriately? For more on this story, click here.
