Prior to the Philadelphia Phillies losing their sixth consecutive game on Wednesday, general manager Matt Klentak made a minor roster acquisition when he traded for light-hitting Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jimmy Paredes in exchange for cash considerations. The move came soon before a major announcement by manager Pete Mackanin that he’s be playing rookie Tommy Joseph at first base in place of Ryan Howard for at least a few games.
