Aaron Nola delivered his most impressive start as a Phillies, throwing seven innings of two-hit, one-run baseball, and the offense came back to life to lift the Phils to a 7-1 win over the visiting San Diego Padres Friday night. Six different Phillies accounted for all six hits and rookie Aaron Altherr became the first Phillies rookie to begin his career with seven extra-base hits (two homers, four doubles and Friday’s triple) while becoming the first big league rookie to begin his career with seven extra-base hits since Carlos Gonzalez did it in 2008 as a member of the Oakland A’s.
