David Buchanan turned in the best performance of his big league career Tuesday night, but that still wasn’t enough to lift the Philadelphia Phillies during a 4-0 loss to the visiting Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park. Buchanan went six innings while allowing just two earned runs on five hits and two walks. The Nats’ Stephen Strasburg meanwhile spun a true gem, tossing eight innings of shutout ball with 14 strikeouts. Cody Asche managed the only hit for the Phillies on the evening – a leadoff single in the fifth. For more on this game, click here.
