Former Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Jayson Werth hit two home runs and Bryce Harper become just the seventh player to hit 40 home runs in his age 22 season or younger as the visiting Washington Nationals kept their faint playoff hopes alive with a 12-2 win Wednesday night. The win completed a three-game sweep of the Phils at Citizens Bank Park. Cameron Rupp and Darin Ruf were the only Phillies players to reach base more than once on the evening. Ruf also knocked in the team’s only two runs with his eighth home run. Alec Asher took the loss, falling to 0-4 since being acquired as part of the Cole Hamels trade.
