The Phillies disheartening series with the New York Mets came to an anticlimactic end Wednesday afternoon. The Mets jumped on starter Sean O’Sullivan early and as often as they could in his 5.2 innings of work to the tune of seven earned runs and 11 hits during a 7-0 win. The Phils found a way to collect eight hits (including two apiece by Ben Revere and Grady Sizemore) without scoring a run, largely due to drawing zero walks as a team. The Mets scored at least one run in five of the first six innings. Noah Syndergaard earned the win for New York while tossing 7.1 innings of shutout ball. The game also marked the end of a road swing that saw the Phillies go 3-7. For more on this game, click here.
