Philadelphia Phillies manager Pete Mackanin has made the transition from Ryan Howard to Tommy Joseph at first base officially permanent as of Friday. The veteran Howard will now reportedly serve in a pinch-hitting/spot-starting capacity. After the official promotion for the 24-year-old rookie, Joseph went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in a 9-6 loss to the host Washington Nationals. For more on this story, click here.
