Janusz Michallik Named to Union’s Broadcast Staff

CHESTER, Pa. – Philadelphia Union have announced the club has brought on veteran broadcaster Janusz Michallik to serve as the color analyst for their remaining two matches in July. The former U.S. Men’s National Team player will call the matches alongside play-by-play man JP Dellacamera for the July 23 match against Montreal Impact, televised on TCN, as well as the July 31 home match against Real Salt Lake, televised on CSN.

 

Michallik began his professional soccer career in 1983 with Gwardia Warszawa in Poland before he moved to the United States at age 16. Michallik amassed 44 caps with the U.S. Men’s National Team from 1991-1994 and won the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 1991 and US Cup in 1992 with the team. In 2002, Michallik was inducted into the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame and in 2009, he was inducted to the New England Soccer Hall of Fame.

 

Michallik currently serves as an analyst on ESPN’s soccer programming, including Serie A in Italy, La Liga in Spain, German Bundesliga, the German Cup, Dutch Eredivisie, UEFA Champions League, World Cup, and the European Championships.  Michallik was also an analyst on ESPN Radio during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

 

Michallik covers the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and MLS as a studio analyst for The Sports Network, in Canada.  Additionally, Michallik is a pundit host on SiriusXM FC and a football-soccer analyst with Fox Sports 1.
