Claude Giroux scored an early go-ahead goal for the host Philadelphia Flyers (28-22-11) in what would become a 4-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes (27-29-6) Saturday afternoon. The captain’s goal (which registered his 500th career point) at 17:41 of the first period provided a 2-1 lead and a sense of momentum. Giroux had missed Philly’s three previous games with an upper-body injury. Sam Gagner’s goal at 18:21 of the opening frame gave the Flyers a 3-1 lead that wouldn’t waste. Scott Laughton and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare also netted goals while Michal Neuvirth turned aside 29 of 31 shots in net. For more on this game, click here.
