Franco Placed on DL, Season Possibly Over

Philadelphia Phillies rookie third baseman Maikel Franco has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured bone in his left wrist. However, his season may be over. Franco sustained the injury Aug. 11 when he was hit by a pitch by Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Jeremy Hellickson. Original X-rays were negative, but a recent MRI proved otherwise.
