Flyers Win 2015-16 Home Opener Without Mason

Brayden Schenn’s second goal of the season during the first period Monday night was all the offense the Flyers needed to get the first win of the 2015-16 season over the visiting Florida Panthers. With goalie Steve Mason out of the lineup due to a “family issue,” 27-year-old Michael Neuvirth earned his eighth career NFL shutout in his first start as a Philadelphia Flyer, stopping all 31 shots he faced.
