Flyers to Honor Danny Briere’s Retirement

The Philadelphia Flyers will honor the recently-announced retirement of former Flyers center Danny Briere in a pre-game ceremony before the Flyers vs. Buffalo Sabres game on October 27 at the Wells Fargo Center.

Briere’s 17-year professional career included six prolific seasons (2007-2013) with the Flyers, during which he scored 124 goals and added 159 assists for 283 points in 364 games. Briere recorded 68 points (36G, 32A) in 62 career playoff games with the club, ranking him eighth in playoff scoring on the Flyers All-Time List and seventh in franchise history in playoff goals. He also ranks second in franchise history with nine playoff game-winning goals.

His scoring average of 1.10 points per playoff game makes him one of just five Flyers to average more than one point per playoff game (minimum five games), joining Peter Forsberg (1.33, 6 GP), Ken Linseman (1.29, 41 GP), Eric Lindros (1.14, 50 GP), and Claude Giroux (1.07, 57 GP). Over the course of his entire NHL career, Briere recorded 307 goals and 389 assists for 696 points.

The special evening is part of the 11-game Black Plan, which also features Jakub Voracek Bobblehead Night (Oct. 20 vs. the Dallas Stars), Flyers Hall of Fame Night honoring Jimmy Watson (Feb. 29 vs. Calgary Flames), Military Appreciation Night (Nov. 10 vs. Colorado Avalanche), SUPERPRETZEL Dollar Pretzel Night (Dec. 8 vs. New York Islanders), and the Team Awards (April 7 vs. Toronto Maple Leafs).
