The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed free-agent defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo today, according to GM Ron Hextall.
The announcement came following the Flyers 4—3 loss to the Lightning in Tampa.
The 6-1, 200-lb defenseman was an unrestricted free agent following last year. He enters his 12th season in the NHL after spending the 2013-14 with the St. Louis Blues where he posted four points (1g-3a) in 25 regular season games.
Colaiacovo spent parts of the 11 seasons with Blues (2008-2012 & 2013-14), Detroit Red Wings (2012-13) and Toronto Maple Leafs (2002-09) where he amassed 144 points (31g-113a) in 401 games.
He was the Maple Leafs first round pick (17th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
