Report From Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to terms with free agent defenseman Michael Del Zotto on a one-year contract, according to general manager Ron Hextall.
Del Zotto, 24 (6/4/1990), most recently played for the Nashville Predators, where he recorded a goal and four assists for five points in 25 games last season. He was acquired by the Predators from the New York Rangers on January 22, 2014 in exchange for defenseman Kevin Klein.
Del Zotto played parts of five seasons with the Rangers, recording 26 goals and 95 assists for 121 points in 292 games. His career-best season came in 2011-12, when he posted 10 goals and 31 assists for 41 points in 77 games, while recording a plus-20 rating. A native of Stouffville, Ontario, Del Zotto was selected by the Rangers in the first round (20th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
