Andrew MacDonald has cleared waivers and has been loaned to the club’s AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms today, according to GM Ron Hextall.
After appearing in three preseason games for the Flyers, MacDonald was placed on waivers on Monday and did not practice with the team.
The Phantoms concluded their preseason on Monday night with a 4-3 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The team will open their second season in Lehigh Valley on Saturday, Oct. 10 when they take on the Syracuse Crunch at the PPL Center in Allentown.
The Flyers will open their season Thursday night when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning. They return home on Monday, October 12 for KIA Opening Night, when they host the Florida Panthers. All fans will receive a KIA #PlayBoldly Flyers rally towel and a 2015-16 Toyota schedule magnet.
