The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have released offensive lineman Todd Herremans.
A fourth-round draft pick out of Saginaw Valley State in 2005, Herremans started 124 regular season games (135 games including playoffs) at four combined positions during his 10 years with the team. His 124 career starts with the Eagles rank 15th in franchise history and sixth among offensive linemen.
In 2014, the 32-year-old started eight games before he was placed on injured reserve in early November with a biceps injury.
“Todd has been the ultimate professional during my two years in Philadelphia with him,” said head coach Chip Kelly. “He is a tough player and I wish him all of the best as he moves forward in his NFL career. I spoke to him earlier today and one of the things I told him was that by releasing him now, he will have a full opportunity to explore all of his options around the league.”
With Herremans gone, the Eagles’ in-house options at right guard include Matt Tobin, Andrew Gardnerand Allen Barbre.
