Eagles Announce Roster Cuts

The Eagles announced on Saturday that they have released the following players:

WR B.J. Cunningham	Spent better part of past three years with team, had touchdown nullified Thursday
OL Donald Hawkins	Second-team O-line dominant in Training Camp
TE Emil Igwenagu	Good blocker and special teams player
LB Jake Knott	Facing four-game suspension to start 2014 season
DE Joe Kruger	Emergence of Brandon Bair pushed down Kruger on depth chart
S Daytawion Lowe	Unable stand out with depth at position
DE Frances Mays	6-foot-9 defensive end signed with Eagles as rookie free agent
DB Davon Morgan	Great story, but versatile defensive back unable to stick
K Carey Spear	Unable to push Alex Henery in Training Camp
DE Alejandro Villanueva	A true hero. Eagles knew Army Ranger was a project going into camp.

As it currently stands, the Eagles have 76 players on the roster. Teams have to be at the NFL-mandated 75-man roster limit by Tuesday at 4 PM. Head coach Chip Kelly explained on Saturday that the team wants to give the players the best possible chance to land on other rosters before the final week of the preseason.
