Playing with just nine healthy bodies for the second time in three days, the Sixers found themselves on the wrong end of a lopsided 120-88 defeat at the hands of the Toronto Raptors.
The Raptors shot 56.6% from the field and converted 27 of their 30 free-throw attempts, while Philadelphia struggled on the offensive end. The Sixers shot 37.9% and went 12-of-18 at the line.
Philadelphia led just once, after a Luc Mbah a Moute dunk put them up 2-0 in the game’s opening minute, and trailed by as many as 41 before trimming their deficit late in the fourth quarter.
The loss dropped the Sixers to 0-7 on the season, while Toronto improved to 6-1 to remain atop the Eastern Conference standings.
Top Performers
• Tony Wroten led the Sixers with 18 points on 6-of-16 shooting to go along with five assists and three rebounds.
• For the second straight game, Chris Johnson found his mark from long range. Against the Raptors, he converted on four of his nine three-point attempts en route to a career-high 16 points. He also notched three steals and six blocks.
• Rookie K.J. McDaniels scored 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting off the bench to go along with four blocks and two steals.
• Henry Sims logged 29 minutes at the center position and notched 12 points (5/11 FG), eight rebounds, and three assists.

The Sixers attempted 34 three-pointers against the Raptors on Sunday. That’s the fifth most in a game for the team since 1985. Unfortunately, the converted on just 10 of those attempts.

• Going into Sunday’s game, the Sixers were allowing an average of 15.7 fastbreak points per game, fourth-most in the league. Against the Raptors, they held that number to just eight.
Next Up
The Sixers have the next three days to regroup before departing for Dallas, where they’ll tip off a three-game road trip on Thursday at 8:30pm (EST). The trip will feature games against all three Texas teams – against the Houston Rockets Friday at 8:00pm (EST) and against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday at 8:30pm (EST).

Reigning Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams, who underwent surgery to repair the labrum in his right shoulder in May, is hopeful that he can make his 2014-15 debut on Thursday against the Mavericks. Big man Nerlens Noel is also expected to suit up in Dallas after missing the Sixers’ last two games with a sprained left ankle.
