Former Phillies outfielder and late broadcaster Richie Ashburn is among 42 candidates who are eligible to receive the Ford C. Frick Award from the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. Beginning this week through Sept. 30, Philly fans can vote for Ashburn by visiting the HOF on Facebook.
The award is considered to be the most prestigious broadcasting honor in baseball. Harry Kalas earned the award in 2002.
