Just as Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Cody Asche seemed to be ending an early-season slump he’s been told that he’ll be spending time in the minor leagues to – not sharpen his focus at the palate necessarily – but to officially be converted into an outfielder to make room for prospect Maikel Franco. Franco, however, is not expected to be called up until Friday at the earliest. Asche went 2-for-4 during Monday night’s loss to the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates with a pair of singles.
