The Phillies started their home stand Friday night much like their most recent road trip – with an uninspiring 4-1 loss to visiting Colorado. Rockies starter Chad Bettis had a perfect game going into the seventh inning until Ben Revere reached base on a fielding error and carried a no-hitter into the eighth before Code Asche, in his return from the minors, hit a one-out single. It wasn’t until the ninth inning that the Phillies cracked the scoreboard when again errors contributed to the cause. Revere reached first after striking out on a wild pitch by Rox reliever John Axford and later scored when Chase Utley reached first safely on a fielding error. Bettis threw a full eight shutout innings and improved to 2-0. Cole Hamels was again a tough-luck loser, falling to 5-4 despite going eight strong and allowing just two earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out nine.
