Chester, Pa. – The Philadelphia Union fell 4-1 to newly promoted English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth Tuesday night in an international friendly in PPL Park. AFC Bournemouth scored the first goal of the game in the 20th minute as Joshua King sent the ball into the top corner of John McCarthy´s goal. The second Bournemouth goal followed six minutes later from Callum Wilson´s strike. The Union made the score 2-1 in the 35th minute with Richie Marquez´s header from Sheanon Williams´ cross. Bournemouth regained their two goal lead in the 62nd minute after Marc Pugh capitalized on Tokelo Rantie´s assist. The final goal came in the 85th minute after Fred fouled Marc Pugh in the box. Tokelo Rantie scored his first goal of the night as he sent the penalty into the top left-hand corner of the goal. The Philadelphia Union return to action in the MLS Regular Season Saturday, July 18 to face Toronto FC in BMO Stadium at 4 p.m.
