The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have agreed to terms on an entry-level contract with right wing Nicolas Aube-Kubel, the club’s second-round pick (48th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft today, according to general manager Ron Hextall.
Aube-Kubel appeared in one preseason game for the Flyers, recording one shot on goal in 15:38 of ice-time.
Since his return to Val d’Or of the QMJHL on Sept. 22, he has two goals and an assist in three games, after posting six goals and seven points in four preseason games.
Prior to being drafted by the club on June 28, the Sorel, Quebec native posted 22 goals and 31 assists for 53 points in 65 games to finish sixth overall on the team in points.Since his return to Val d’Or of the QMJHL on Sept. 22, he has two goals and an assist in three games, after posting six goals and seven points in four preseason games.
He also recorded 13 points (4g-9a) in 24 postseason games to help his team capture the President’s Trophy and QMJHL Championship, and earn a berth in the 2014 Memorial Cup Tournament.
