Darren Daulton Undergoes Successful Surgery

Former Phillies catcher Darren Daulton underwent successful surgery Monday on two brain tumors. The procedure was performed at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. “Dutch” was diagnosed in late June with brain tumors during a routine checkup. One of them was thought to be inoperable. Doctors said the hardest part of recovery will be language function.

“I would expect it’s going to take him probably 3-4 weeks to get over the surgery,” Dr. Kevin J. Judy told CSNPhilly.com. “As far as full recovery, he did have some trouble prior to surgery with the language function, so we’ll have to see how that evolves.”

However, Daulton was reportedly talking with his oldest son after surgery.
