CHESTER, Pa. – Philadelphia Union announced Tuesday they have transferred midfielder Michael Lahoud to Miami FC of the North American Soccer League. Prior to the transfer, Lahoud’s loan agreement with New York Cosmos was terminated.
“Mike always served the club in a professional manner during his time here,” Union Sporting Director Earnie Stewart said. “We thank him for his service and want to wish him the best of luck in Miami and in his future endeavors.”
Lahoud, a 29-year-old defensive midfielder, had been on loan with the Cosmos since Jan. 12. He originally joined the Union on May 17, 2012, when he was acquired in a trade with Chivas USA. Lahoud played in 58 career games with Union and started 40. He registered one assist on June 28, 2014 against New England Revolution.
The first-place Union return to action on Wednesday, May 25 against Orlando City SC. The match is scheduled to kick at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on CSN. The Union return home to Talen Energy Stadium on Wednesday, June 1 against Columbus Crew SC.
