Flyers Hold Wild Card Ground Despite 6-2 Loss to Penguins

The Philadelphia Flyers (39-26-13) continue to hold a one-point lead over the Boston Bruins for the Eastern Conference’s second wild card after a 6-2 loss in Pittsburgh to the Penguins (46-25-8) on Sunday afternoon by virtue of the Boston Bruins’ 6-4 loss to Chicago. Philly still trails the New York Islanders by two points after their loss on Saturday.

Backup Pittsburg goalie Matthew Murray stood the Flyers up on Sunday, making 28 saves on 30 shots. Wayne Simmonds and Jakub Voracek both scored goals while Steve Mason stopped 33 of 38 shots in the losing effort.
