CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia Union announced on Wednesday that midfielder Maurice Edu will miss 3-4 months while recovering from a stress fracture in his left leg.
Edu, 29, originally joined the Union prior to the 2014 season. After signing a multi-year extension in 2015, the defensive midfielder is entering his third year with the club in 2016. He’s played in 53 league games with the Union and scored four goals. He’s also added two goals in U.S. Open Cup play, including one in the 2014 Final against Seattle Sounders.
