The Philadelphia Phillies almost fulfilled their role of spoiler Monday night against the visiting Washington Nationals. Almost. Afrer clawing back from deficits of 1-0, 2-1 and 6-2 and trailing 7-6 in the 1oth inning, the Phillies got a leadoff home run from Freddy Galvis off former Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon but could not rally enough to walk off with a win during an eventual 8-7 loss. Aaron Nola was roughed up over his five innings of work, allowing six earned runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out eight. Luis Garcis took the loss in relief. Papelbon ended up with the win.
