Report From Philadelphia Union
Chester, Pa. – The Philadelphia Union fell 2-1 to the Columbus Crew SC Saturday night in PPL Park. After a first half in which the Union conceded two goals in the first 30 minutes, the home side looked sharper in the second half. Kai Kamara, the top goal scorer in MLS, scored both goals for Columbus, his respective 19th and 20th of the season. The Union responded with C.J. Sapong´s goal in the 66th minute. Sebastien Le Toux and Conor Casey engaged in a give-and-go the on the right hand side of the field, Le Toux passed the ball across the area, which Sapong tapped in from short range. The Union had several more chances throughout the second half, including a shot from Le Toux that hit the crossbar in the 79th minute. With the loss, the Union have a 8-15-6 record and sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The home side return to action on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015 to face the Houston Dynamo.
