Former Sixer Mutombo Inducted to HOF

Dikembe Mutombo, who’s trade acquisition during the 2000-01 season helped propel the Philadelphia 76ers into the NBA Finals, was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday. A shot-blocking specialist, the iconic player best remembered for waving his finger at the more than 3,200 players he swatted during his nearly 20-year career with six teams, was joined by 10 other inductees. He’s also remembered for helping hist first team – the Denver Nuggets – pull off one of the NBA’s greatest upsets in the playoffs when they defeated top-seeded Seattle in the first round.
