Union Drops Match to Visiting NY City, 2-1

Report From Philadelphia Union

Chester, Pa. –  After two previous encounters in the 2015 MLS Regular Season, in which the Union went undefeated,  the Philadelphia Union fell 2-1 to the 2015 expansion team in PPL Park Saturday night. The Union were first to score, with C.J. Sapong finding the back of the net from Sebastien Le Toux´s assist in the 46th minute. Thomas McNamara equalized the game in the 53rd minute, with  Kwadwo Poku giving the assist.  New York City FC secured the victory with a late goal in the 87th minute. Second half substitution Patrick Mullins beat Union left back Fabinho to make the score 2-1. After three encounters with New York City FC in the 2015 season, the Union have won, tied and lost a game. The Philadelphia Union will next face Reading United for a friendly match on Tuesday, June 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Don Thomas Stadium.
