The Phillies offense uncharacteristically compiled five runs over three innings on Sunday afternoon to rally in support of rookie starter Severino Gonzalez and leave Miami with a win, beating the Marlins 6-2. Gonzalez earned his first Major League win, throwing five innings and allowing two earned runs on five hits and a walk with five strikeouts. De Fratus, Luis Garcia, Ken Giles and Jonathan Papelbon all worked one scoreless inning each to preserve a lead that the Phillies established in the sixth inning when Ryan Howard tripled home Darin Ruf, to tie the game at 2-2, and later scored on a single by Grady Sizemore. Ben Revere had three hits on the day. For more on this game, click here.
