Running back Darren Sproles was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 10. It’s his second Special Teams Player of the Week award this year, and his third Player of the Week award overall this season.
Sproles returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown against the Panthers Monday night, his second punt return touchdown of the season.
He won his first special teams award this season in Week 4, when he returned a punt 82 yards for a touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers.
He won Offensive Player of the Week for his Week 2 performance against the Colts, when he amassed 178 yards from scrimmage and scored two touchdowns.
Sproles is averaging a league-high 17.0 yards per punt return on 23 returns so far this season, the highest of his career. His two punt return touchdowns this season are also a career high.
It should be noted that Sproles and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whom the Eagles face this week, are the league leaders with three Player of the Week awards apiece this season.
