The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have assigned LW Taylor Leier and LW Darroll Powe to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms AHL training camp in Allentown, according to general manager Ron Hextall.
Leier appeared in two preseason games for the Flyers, going scoreless and posting five shots on goal while recording over 12 minutes of ice time in each game. He also posted two goals to help the Phantoms defeated Albany in an AHL preseason game in Newark, NJ on Tuesday, Sept. 23.In addition, the club has also placed RW Andrew Gordon, D Oliver Lauridsen and D Brandon Manningon waivers for the purpose of assigning them to Lehigh Valley on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Powe also appeared in two preseason games for the Flyers, going scoreless, while Gordon posted a goal and an assist in his two preseason games.
Both Manning and Lauridsen played one preseason game for the Flyers.
With the above transactions, the Flyers roster now stands at 34 players with four preseason games remaining on the schedule. The Flyers improved to 2-1-1 in the preseason with Thursday’s 4-0 win over the New Jersey Devils at the Wells Fargo Center. Both wins in the preseason have come on home ice.
