With their 117-95 win over the visiting Sixers Friday night, the Memphis Grizzlies (47-32) secured at least a temporary hold on the last plaoff spot in the Western Conference. By virtue of the Phoenix Suns’ loss to San Antonio, the Grizz would earn a trip to the postseason to play the Spurs in the opening round if the playoffs started today. They actually start April 19.
A third-quarter run lifted the Suns on Friday as Marc Gasol collected 21 points and 10 rebounds while Mike Miller added 19 points.
Tony Wroten and Thaddeus Young led the Sixers (17-62) with 18 points apiece. Elliot Williams added 13 for Philadelphia, which lost its third straight and fifth in the last six. For more on this game, click here.
