Report From PhiladelphiaEagles.com
The NFL released its preseason schedule Wednesday, revealing the Eagles’ four opponents in the lead-up to Chip Kelly’s second NFL season.
The Eagles will begin the preseason with back-to-back road games, opening with a trip to Soldier Field to play the Chicago Bears in the first week of the preseason. Next, the Eagles will travel North for a date with the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
New England traveled to Philadelphia last summer, when the two teams commingled in a pair of joint practices at the NovaCare Complex prior to the preseason opener.
The Eagles’ third preseason game, typically the closest thing to a dress rehearsal for the regular season, will open the 2014 schedule at Lincoln Financial Field when the Eagles welcome in the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Finally, the Eagles will close the preseason slate with a matchup against the New York Jets, as they have done each preseason since 2001. That preseason finale will take place at Lincoln Financial Field.
