Report From PhiladelphiaSoul.com
The Philadelphia Soul will host an incredible night of awareness and fundraising to benefit local youth as the Soul battle the Iowa Barnstormers at the Wells Fargo Center April 27.
In partnership with United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) and Jaws Youth Playbook (JYP), this game will provide an opportunity for thousands of Philadelphia-area underserved youth to experience a professional football game. The tickets donated by JYP will be distributed by UWGPSNJ to many deserving children in communities throughout the region.
“United Way is a phenomenal partner of Jaws Youth Playbook,” said Soul and JYP Founder Ron Jaworski. “They do a tremendous job with their education, income and health initiatives and are an integral part of making our communities stronger. We are excited to provide children with an experience they will never forget with United Way’s support.”
In addition to providing tickets for the game, $14 for every ticket sold throughwww.philadelphiasoul.com/liveunited will be donated to UWGPSNJ’s Impact Fund. Through the Impact Fund, United Way develops strategies to address our region’s challenges related to education, income and health. From there, United Way invests in local organizations that drive results to ensure children succeed in school, families are financially stable and our communities’ health and basic needs are met. Tickets start as low as $28.
At the game, there will be a 90-minute postgame children’s concert headlined by American Idol and X-Factor star Jillian Jensen and ABDC Stars Phunk Phenomenon. There will also be a Soul Pom Pom giveaway to the first 3,000 fans.
“We are grateful for our collaboration with Jaws Youth Playbook and the Philadelphia Soul,” said Jill Michal, President and CEO, UWGPSNJ. “Together we can provide a memorable night for our area youth and engage fans and our community in helping this region’s children.”
